I can’t imagine the differences we have now. We were once like soul mates, we share the same thoughts and ambition in life. We both love to talk and the passion in venturing in the field of media.
We met back in our elementary days. I recall she was the one who initiated to be my best friend. Since then we plan together and spend our high school in the same school. Though were no longer classmates then our friendships was not affected. We regularly visit each other on the weekends, since her house was few blocks away and we make sure no secrets are kept.
Until we have to separate ways in college. Though we both endeavor in the field of mass communication I preferred Auf while she stayed at HAU. I don’t know the main reason but as we step in college we seldom see each other. Maybe the schedule or the fact that college life requires a lot of time. This lead in weakening the friendships, sometimes I feel she is now a stranger. I must admit she has changed, the way she carry herself and her points of view in life. There are times that we disagree with each other unlike before that we share the same thoughts. I feel the differences. At times I want to tell her, I don’t like what she does but I can’t. It’s like I have no longer the authority to advise her, for I don’t know who she is now. I just missed the old days.

i could really relate with your article. we share the same thought.
do you believe in the saying... a true friendship will last for etenity? in my case i do!
i also have this bestfriend way back in high school. we dont really have the same personality but for me, differing qualities will compliment one onother. db?
i admit that there are people who dont like my best friend's personality... because he has a very strong personality. but in y case, i do understand him.. if they only knew the real him... they will understand why until now... i consider him my bestfriend.
still... sya parin yung kasakasama ko sa mga kalokohan ko until now... and i strongly believe that our friendship will lasts forever kahit na magasaasawa na kaming pareho... :)
I know you're still holding on to the friendship you had before, and I think it's the right thing to do. Honestly speaking, unlike you, I didn't have any childhood friend. It's only now that I found a true friend and he is my honey (ui, chismis..hehe!). kidding aside, it's only him who knows my biggest secrets. I found him as a true friend because he accepted me as me (including my flaws). He loves me unconditionally; no because, no buts, purely acceptance.
It's not actually about having many friends but having true friends. But isn't it more wonderful to have many true friends who would stay for good?..=)
You have to accept the fact that everything changes that's beyond our control. Friendship requires alot of time to make it grow... The friends you have last time may not be today or the friends you have now will no longer be tomorrow. There are alot of circumstances why it happens... It can be the lost of communication and sometimes because of misunderstanding that both of you decided to seperate ways. There's nothing constant in this world everything changes including person who matters most to us. But that doesn't mean we delete them into our world. It's just we have to face the world again and move on with our lives.
For sure even time goes by the moments that you've shared will always be in each others heart ...
missing the old days is just a normal term for all of us. first, there are really good memories in the past which we really want to look back and live as well. life is indeed full of these sweet and sour moments and all of these are plainly being missed by everyone. well, for you to be happy just live this life you have now to the fullest. and, i am sure you will not be sad to see all the smile of all the people around you. kay, you are somebody right now...love yah..
RicbOn advise….
Sometimes you have to understand individual differences. Everything in this world change and it’s temporary, particularly human being, the moment they’re developed they transform… in character, way of thinking, and way of life, so we have to accept the reality of life in friendship. But miracles do happen, not only in movies but in real life too by intend of positive way of thinking. “SECRET” book says do positive moves to talk to your changed friend, like communicate to her and start the moves now. But if she still treating you like “others” , then that is the time to ignore her.
I know it’s painful to loose a friend and very difficult to find real true friend. But in your kindness and sincereness you can simply find real friend
because to those people surrounds us.
I understand what you feel. I also had friends in the past that I no longer see today. Because of separation, distance and priorities, we weren’t able to maintain the friendship.
But if there comes a time when I meet them by coincidence, I would never forget that once, they had been part of my life.
Your friend may not be close to you anymore. She may treat you otherwise but still, you know that you were true and you treasure the times when you were together. Remember she was an important part of your life and you shouldn’t let that to be overshadowed by separation and distance. A friend is always a friend.
PS: Kay (a.k.a. Chenelyn), I like your personality so much. The class is never complete without you. I admire you because you are strong and true. I strongly believe you will achieve the things you want to achieve. You deserve to be successful! Thanks for being here with me. I’m just here always.
Like what I have Posted in my blogs there is really a big changes to everything. people do change. Friendships does'nt require a full time attention to one another. as long as you and your friend knows the importance of frindship.
kay maybe your friend had change because of the environment that she has, also you too has a diiff. environment.
or it is time for you and your friend to have a new world to leave on.
but you can always reach your friend with a txt msg. telling her how you missed your old times together.
Hello Ann, nice one. I was moved by your article. I really miss the old days but you know what they say we can't live in the shadows of or past. I guess we have no choice but to move on in the future. It’s sad because almost all my friends in high school are in the u.s already. It’s hard to live life when you got use to your past life. I guess that's the magic life there's no turning back that's the purpose of memory to remember your life before and make the most of it in the future. ;)
